Interfaith participation ensures that AMPAC helps Muslim communities stay connected with other faith groups through existing multi-faith and multicultural institutions. While we do not initiate the events these groups plan, AMPAC believes it is important to build strong alliances and use events as opportunities to build mutual understanding.

Festival of the Faiths – Interfaith Panel Discussion (September 2016)
AMPAC VP External Affairs Nakita Valerio moderated and participated in a panel on Secularism and Governance for the Festival of the Faiths alongside Catholic School Board Trustee Patricia Grell, MLA David Shepherd and President of the Society of Edmonton Atheists, Karen Kerr.
Phoenix Society Interfaith Event – Edmonton City Hall (December 2015)
AMPAC VP External Affairs Nakita Valerio was asked to be the representative of Edmonton’s Muslim community at the Phoenix Society’s Interfaith Celebration. The event took place at Edmonton’s City Hall and featured representatives of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, as well as musical performances related to each faith. It was an honour to be asked to give a talk on the theme of “Hope” in Islam during politically turbulent times.
