AMPAC is Recruiting

The Alberta Muslim Public Affairs Council is looking for new board members! Do you have a background in communication, journalism, law, policy, political science, fundraising, or community organizing? Do you have a passion for principled advocacy, anti-racism, and civic engagement? Then join the Alberta Muslim Public Affairs Council executive board!
We are currently looking to recruit two new board members, and are actively seeking competitive applicants. AMPAC endeavours to have a gender balanced board, and we are especially encouraging  our Muslim sisters to get involved.
We are specifically looking for a new:
1. VP Communications: Are you a passionate communicator? Do you have a media/comms background? Are you a strong writer who believes in standing against racism and Islamophobia? Would you be interested in working with journalists, press secretaries, and others in telling our story? If so, the VP Comms Position might be perfect for you.
Assets (although not required) include:
1. A Bachelor in Communications/Journalism or related experience;
2. Minimum of 1 year in a communications role; and
3. Willingness to work with a “lean startup” mentality.
2. Secretary
Does the efficiency of an organization make you tick? Would you be interested in coordinating the efforts of dozens of volunteers, executives, and directors? Does content control and content editing fit your professional background? If so, you might be our next Secretary! While the role can be daunting, it is equally rewarding as you manage your way through ensuring that content is properly delivered by the other AMPAC executives in a timely, efficient, and Ihsaan-focused manner.
Assets (although not required) include:
1. A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience;
2. A background in management, or equivalent
